Proper 27

Luke 20.27-38

Context

As we follow our lectionary journey towards the conclusion of the Christian year, we look to what Jesus had to say about the end times and we consider what it means to us, as citizens of the world, with a God-given responsibility to live justly with each other.

Common thread – Here and now (Luke 20.27-38)

Confronted by a ridiculous question designed to catch him out, Jesus explains that our concerns about current, living, relationships will be entirely different and separate from concerns about life in the world to come.

An alternative thread for adults, Urgent advice, draws on 2 Thessalonians 2.1-5,13-17.
