Our 'Why'
At Roots, We believe GREAT church transforms lives and communities.
GREAT is an acronym for:
- Growing. We believe the Church and each of us is meant to grow as we follow Jesus. We understand the pressure on church leaders and volunteers who carry so many responsibilities, so we equip and empower ministry leaders with ready-to-go resources and inspiration to support worship, discipleship and mission.
- Relevant. We believe worship, discipleship and mission should be expressed through our cultural context. So we publish fresh resources, written by practitioners who understand the realitites of church and contemporary culture.
- Engaging. We believe faith should engage our whole being: mind, body and soul. We are oriented by the work of Dave Csinos and Joyce Bellous' 'Spiritual Styles', and our resources encourage curiosity and conversation, wonder and mystery, service and activism, participation and an interactive congregational hermanutic.
- Authentic. We believe church is a place to belong and be known. We design our resources to build connection, friendship, and include those who might otherwise find it hard to join in.
- Together. We believe we read the Bible best in community, learning from diverse perspectives and insights, as we spur eachother on in relationship with Jesus.
