John 17.6-19Context
As the end of Easter time approaches our attention is directed to Jesus’ work of preparing the disciples for the (now imminent) time when he must leave.
Common thread – Christ around us (John 17.6-19)
The ROOTS resources this week direct us to the Jesus who protects and accompanies us through our growth. The Gospel uses poetic couplets to contrast worldly dangers and fears with the reassurance of God’s protection – and we explore poetry as a way of offering our response to God.
An alternative thread for adults
Community in time of change, draws on the experience of the early Christian community in Acts in the run-up to the coming of the Spirit at Pentecost.
