Becoming the good news - Week 2 of 6

Six weeks in which we observe Jesus taking up the mission of the Old Testament writers. This will help us think about how we can enter the stories of Jesus and become good news ourselves. An article that provides an overview of the theme can be found here.

Become good news

This week we learn that, to become Jesus’ followers, we must take up our cross. This does not sound like good news! Today we consider why it is and discover practical ways to share good news!

This week’s reading, Mark 8.31-38, provides an opportunity to:

  • recognise that we share in being the good news to others (AAA & CYP)
  • discover a practical way to be good news, inspired by Fairtrade Fortnight (AAA & CYP)
  • consider what we want to gain and what is important to us. (AAA & CYP)

These resources were first published in Issue 58 March/April 2012.
