Although this reading tells of a physical healing, it’s also an allegory of our need for spiritual healing.

Today we explore the sense of sight, and then marvel at Jesus’ healing of the blind man.

Our perception changes gradually (AAA)
Although the man’s sight is restored instantly when he washes Jesus’ mud off his eyes, his understanding of who Jesus is dawns gradually and is, ironically, reinforced by the opposition he meets.
