Proper 20

Proverbs 31.10–31

Context

The reading from Proverbs today speaks of the original ‘Superwoman’; a fantastically organised and successful working wife. But, behind any modern reading of the passage lies a subtle message about knowing who we are before God and living that life to the full.

Common thread – Striving for virtue (Proverbs 31.10–31)

To aspire to be virtuous, noble or admirable is not a bad thing. Yet in a world where some people think they have achieved perfection and others have no realisation of their own potential, the ROOTS resources this week consider how we value others and the contribution we each make.

These resources were first published in Issue 43 September/October 2009.
