Luke 2.41-52Context
Today we shoot forward twelve years, to the visit of Jesus and his parents to Jerusalem for the Passover festival. Although this may seem odd two days after celebrating the birth of Christ, it does provide an opportunity to reflect on the parental experiences of Mary and Joseph.
Common thread – See it from my side (Luke 2.41-52)
We build on our Advent geographical learning as we reflect on the birth of Christ in Bethlehem and then move to the story of his visit to the Temple in Jerusalem at the age of twelve. As events there unfold we have an opportunity to think about the role of Mary and Joseph and their feelings as they bring up this special child.
