John 10.11-18Resurrection life - Week 4 of 9
Nine weeks in which, through praying the Scriptures, we begin to discover the skills needed to live in the light of the resurrection.
The Good Shepherd
This week we move away from accounts of resurrection appearances to consider what we might think of as ‘Easter teachings’ found in John’s Gospel. Today we hear about the Good Shepherd, reflecting, too, on one of its antecedents, Psalm 23.
This week’s readings, John 10.11-18 and Psalm 23 , provide an opportunity to:
- reflect on the words of the Good Shepherd (AAA & CYP)
- think about what it means to be part of Jesus’ flock (AAA & CYP)
- learn about shepherds and how they care for their sheep (AAA)
- consider the metaphor of sheep and shepherds in the contemporary context (CYP).
