In Lent we consider how the Old Testament people’s faith and trust in God is challenged and developed and what this means for us today.
Choices and consequences
We consider the second creation story in Genesis, in which the serpent encourages Eve to disobey and, as a result, Eve and Adam’s relationship with God and each other is damaged.&
This week’s reading, Genesis 2.15-17; 3.1-7, provides an opportunity to:
- begin the journey through Lent together
- appreciate that evil never shows its face
- recognise the impact of our response to temptation.
