Luke 2.1-14,(15-20)- Mary’s baby is born in Bethlehem; he is laid in a manger.
- An angel tells shepherds that the Messiah is born; they go to find the child.
- Mary ponders these things in her heart; the shepherds glorify and praise God.
This week's resources explore: the birth of Jesus according to Luke.
As Advent 4 falls on Christmas Eve this year we have integrated the Advent 4 and Christmas resources for Children & Young People. The resources include:
- prayers to integrate into sessions and services
- a retelling of the nativity story and activities for very young children
- a drama script for the nativity story suitable for 10- to 15-year-olds
- resources for young people based on Luke’s account of Gabriel’s visit to Mary, and Jesus’ birth.
You could integrate activities into services, group sessions or social events leading up to and during the Christmas holidays. The drama script could be rehearsed and presented as part of a service or event, or read through in a more informal group session.
