Context
We continue to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, an event of such impact that in fact we celebrate for seven weeks. Today we read about further resurrection appearances, to the disciples and particularly to Thomas.
Common thread: Missing lines (John 20.19-31)
Continuing our Lent/Easter series on intimate conversations, we listen in today to the encounters of the apostle Thomas, first of all with the rest of the disciples and then with the risen Christ. The terse dialogue leaves much to the imagination and we try to read into the gaps to learn more about the mystery of the resurrection.
An alternative thread for adults, Who do we think we are?, is based on Acts 2.14a,22-32. It is the first in a series helping us to learn about the nature of the Early Church that developed after the resurrection.
