John 11.1-45Jesus’ dear friend Lazarus dies. Four days later, Jesus raises Lazarus to life and restores the faith of Lazarus’ sisters Martha and Mary that he is the Messiah. But in Bethany, only two miles from Jerusalem, Jesus’ own life is increasingly at risk from the authorities there.
This week we hear about the most amazing miracle: Lazarus is brought back from the dead – contentious then, and still so today. We explore how different people in the story responded to grief and loss, and what that can tell us about these familiar experiences and emotions.
