Authentic role models
Matthew 23.1-12Jesus accuses the scribes and Pharisees of not doing what they teach. He tells the crowd and his disciples that they have but one teacher, and one Father in heaven. Those who exalt themselves will be humbled; the humble will be exalted.
Jesus affirms that we proclaim what is written in Scripture by the way we live. Are we good role models? We can read Scripture but take a path that is easier, less challenging. Others can be hurt, disadvantaged by our actions. Can we identify the blind spots in our own lives and change?
