What kind of God?
Exodus 32:1-14Moses has spent over a month with God on Mount Sinai; the Israelites fear something has happened to him and decide they want a different god. Aaron asks them to bring the gold they had plundered from the Egyptians, which they melt and form into a golden calf – a new god to bow down to and worship. God is angry, but Moses appeals to God’s promises and honour, resulting in God showing mercy to the Israelites.
Today we think about the types of things we might idolise in our lives and how we can remember how amazing God is, putting God back at the centre.
