Advent 3

Zephaniah 3.14-20

Context

Although we move to a new prophet this week, we continue to focus on the city of Jerusalem. This week, instead of longing to be there, as last week, we consider what it is to arrive and how we celebrate coming home.

Common thread – Going home (Zephaniah 3.14-20)

Once again we turn to the Hebrew Scriptures and think about how the prophets talked up the significance of place. As we move through Advent we consider the significance of homecoming and home, the nature of Jerusalem as home for those who live there and the experience of people who have to fight for a home of their own.An alternative thread for adults Saying sorry is drawn from Luke 3.7-18.
