Advent 1
Matthew 24.36-44Be ready
Today is the first Sunday of Advent, the start of the final countdown to the coming of Christ at Christmas.
Advent is about preparation and today we are urged to be ready. Jesus' injunction to watchfulness in the Gospel reading is supported by Paul as he writes to the Romans and it reflects the sense of anticipation and excitement communicated by Psalm 122.
