Isaiah 11.1-10The voice in the wilderness
On the second Sunday of Advent we encounter John the Baptist in the wilderness, urging repentance.
The strange figure of John in the wilderness reminds us of the early journeys of the Hebrew people and the constant mission of their prophets to call the people back to God. John calls for repentance in preparation for a greater one to come.
