The number of characters in the stories we read continues to shrink and this week we consider an encounter between Jesus and just one person, someone outside the normal bounds of his society.
Common thread (Matthew 15.(10-20),21-28)
This week’s reading is challenging in many ways: Jesus deals with a foreign woman who seeks healing for her tormented daughter and as a result of the encounter appears to change his mind. What are we to make of all this?
