Five weeks in which, through reading John’s account of the feeding of the five thousand and his teaching about the bread of life, we discover what it means to be a disciple.
John 6 began with the feeding of the five thousand and concludes with a focus on the twelve and Peter’s declaration: ‘You have the words of eternal life.’
This week's reading, John 6.56-69, provides an opportunity to:
be aware of the way in which disciples are called in John (AAA)
consider how we go about making choices (AAA & CYP)
consolidate our learning about the image of Jesus as living bread, in John’s Gospel (AAA & CYP)
develop our belief in the holy one of God (CYP).
These resources were first published in Issue 60 July/August 2012.
