The Lenten signpost

Instructions for making a signpost for the Lenten and Easter journeys

The Lenten signpost

Throughout Lent the journey to Jerusalem will be signalled by a signpost. This should be rather like those at significant tourist sites (e.g. Land’s End) with different kinds of information on each side. On one arm it should say Jerusalem and then how many weeks to Easter. On the other arm, it should give the location for the week – see weekly material for this. In the middle, a circle/head could indicate 2013. Change the arms of the signpost each week. The signpost is supposed to resemble a cross – two arms and a circle/head in the middle. Decorate the signpost when you reach Easter and then keep it, as it will be useful when you use the material based on the Acts of the Apostles during the Easter season.
