The widows showed their love for Dorcas by holding up the garments in such a natural and touching way. Peter allowed himself to be the channel for God’s power to the woman about whom he knew so little. The miraculous can happen in the midst of everyday life, and the miracle is about changing with love. After the miracle, normality is restored as Dorcas resumes her good works among the widows and Peter accepts an invitation to stay with Simon the Tanner, by the seaside, a short respite before God’s next challenge for him. We are called to make our everyday activities extraordinary by doing everything as if it is for God, being aware of how he is guiding us, so that others will see him among us.
