Walk in the light
During Advent, as we anticipate the coming of Jesus, we read from the Book of Isaiah ancient prophecies written for the people of Judah in which Christians have found images that shed light on the coming of the Messiah. In this first week of Advent we learn that on the path of peace we must walk in the light.
This week’s reading, Isaiah 2.1-5, provides an opportunity to:
- begin to engage with the distinctive nature of the Advent season (AAA & CYP)
- consider the nature of peace (AAA & CYP)
- discover the use of vivid imagery in the poetry of Isaiah (AAA & CYP)
- understand that prophecy challenges as well as comforts. (AAA)
