Hope amid despair

Ezekiel 37.1-14

Faith adventure – Week 5 of 5

In Lent we consider how the Old Testament people’s faith and trust in God is challenged and developed and what this means for us today. Read more about the theme.

Hope amid despair

In a vision, God instructs Ezekiel to prophesy over dry bones, transforming them into living, breathing bodies. God promised that he would bring the people back to hope from despair.

This week’s reading, Ezekiel 37.1-14, provides us with an opportunity to:

  • experience the shift of pace in the Lenten journey as the Passion approaches (AAA & CYP)
  • consider despair and hope and the new life that can come in faith (AAA & CYP)
  • explore the metaphor found in the story of the valley of bones (AAA & CYP).
