A capacity for compassion
Shortly after the death of John the Baptist, Jesus withdraws to a deserted place. However, finding himself surrounded by a hungry crowd, he responds with compassion.
This week’s reading, Matthew 14.13-21, provides us with an opportunity to:
- consider the context of Jesus’ compassion and its consequences (AAA & CYP)
- relate this story to situations that we find overwhelming (AAA & CYP).
