Proper 10

Matthew 13.1-9,18-23

Successes and failures (AAA)

There is a real danger when looking at the parables, especially this one of the sower, that we make the mistake of wrongly categorising ourselves. Too easily we get it wrong as to what kind of seed we are.

Good Ground (CYP)

The lesson in this for us may be that perhaps the grasping of the gospel message is not as easy as some of our preaching may suggest. There is more to it than meets the eye and ear, and it demands attention that is courageous, sacrificial and persistent.

The generosity of God (AAA)

This old method of scattering seed shows us something of God’s generosity? God’s word is not only to be planted in good soil, but will be scattered and given the freedom and opportunity to grow and develop in the most unexpected of places.
