Proper 9

Matthew 11.16-19,25-30

The future is God’s (AAA)

Jesus, whose knowledge of God and life of love must have left him puzzled by the way people behaved. He is delighted when he discovers another walking the same road, asking the same questions and pointing men and women to their relationship with God.

Lighten up (CYP)

It seems that God’s messengers can find no welcome and acceptance whatever style of life they adopt. But in the face of rejection, Jesus will persist, even to the point of giving his life.

Released to be prophets (AAA)

The Old Testament prophets were able to recognise the reality of the nature of their society and people’s lifestyles. They were also blessed with the courage to question practices if they offended God’s laws and possessed the vision to seek what the Spirit might do to transform society.

These resources were first published in 2005.
