God is involved in the actions – in the little things as well as the ‘important’. There is good reason for the emphasis put on small kindnesses – it is often these that stick in the mind. We remember if someone has said ‘thank you’, or sent us a card.

Jesus' speaks about welcome and kindness. How can we make people feel welcome and be welcomed ourselves?

Jesus talks at length about being welcomed. Perhaps there is work to be done on these disciples. It can be difficult to be on the receiving end of a welcome – to be dependent on someone else’s hospitality.
