Mark 1.21-28The promise of God - Week 2 of 5
Five weeks in which we discover the God who is able to accomplish far more than all we can ask or imagine.
God who gives authority
In this second of our five-week series on the promise of God, we return to Mark 1. Jesus’ ministry opens with a cleansing in the synagogue, when his power over an unclean spirit is demonstrated by silencing it.
This week’s reading, Mark 1.21-28, provides an opportunity to:
- reflect on the place of authority in the context of a welcoming community (AAA & CYP)
- recognise that true authority derives from love rather than power (AAA & CYP)
- accept that Jesus is more than a miracle worker (AAA & CYP).
