Luke 4.1-13Towards Jerusalem Week 2 of 7
Luke describes Jesus setting his face to Jerusalem. Over seven weeks we travel with Jesus on his journey from the Mount of Transfiguration to the glory of the cross.
Temptation
On the first Sunday of Lent we hear the story of Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness and we begin to identify what will strengthen us for the journey through Lent.
This week's reading, Luke 4.1-13, provides us with an opportunity to:
- see how Jesus dealt with temptation (AAA & CYP)
- recognise that we can be tempted (AAA)
- recognise that we can be tempted to go the wrong way (CYP)
- look at how we deal with temptation (AAA & CYP)
- look at what shapes and strengthens us. (AAA).
