This week we begin to work with a series of parables about the kingdom of God found in Matthew’s Gospel.
Common thread: Soil types (Matthew 13.1-9,18-23)
Today’s parable is often called the parable of the sower and consideration of it often focuses on methods of how the sower sows the seed and the results of that sowing. Another way into the parable, however, is to think about each of the four types of ground onto which the seed fell and to ask ourselves ‘What type of soil are we?’
