Proper 27

Luke 20.27-38

In our time - Week 2 of 4

Four weeks in which we see how Luke explores the significance of the crucifixion for his readers, then and now.

Resurrection life

Jesus has moved on from Jericho and his encounter with Zacchaeus. This week we find him in Jerusalem, and the shadow of the cross is beginning to loom, as the Sadducees arrive with a trick question.

This week’s reading, Luke 20.27-38, provides an opportunity to:

  • recognise that Jesus is ready to answer the questions that we need to ask (AAA & CYP)
  • consider what are useful questions (AAA & CYP)
  • understand how Jesus breathed new life into the Scriptures. (AAA & CYP)

These resources were first published in 2013.
