Matthew 22.15-22Context
We look at practical engagement with life skills, as we read of a group which challenges Jesus about his authority.
Common thread: Authorities (Matthew 22.15-22)
Faced with hostile questions, Jesus frequently turns the question on its head and offers it back to the questioners, as he does here. Jesus’ device of offering the question back is a handy lesson for those tempted by the lure of simplistic sources of authority, and those who long for rulings.
