Luke 9.28-36,(37-43)Towards Jerusalem Week 1 of 7
Luke describes Jesus setting his face to Jerusalem. Over seven weeks we travel with Jesus on his journey from the Mount of Transfiguration to the glory of the cross.
Seeing the journey ahead
In the week before Lent, we go with Jesus and his three companions and experience the glory that will sustain the long journey to Jerusalem. Then we descend to the reality of the brokenness of ordinary life.
This week's reading, Luke 9.28-26 (37-43) provides us with an opportunity to:
- affirm our purpose as we approach Lent (AAA and CYP)
- look forwards as the journey begins (AAA)
- learn to glimpse the glory revealed in ordinary and extraordinary encounters (AAA and CYP).
