John 6.24-35

Discovering John 6 – Week 2 of 5

Five weeks in which, through reading John’s account of the feeding of the five thousand and his teaching about the bread of life, we discover what it means to be a disciple.

Searching

Impressed by the multiplication of the loaves, the crowd pursues Jesus and asks for a sign. In response Jesus tells them, ‘I am the bread of life.’

This week's reading, John 6.24-35, provides an opportunity to:

  • hear the story of the giving of the manna in the wilderness (AAA)
  • consider what has enduring value/what really lasts (AAA & CYP)
  • reflect on what we hunger for (AAA & CYP)
  • think about what it means to ‘believe into’ (AAA).

These resources were first published in Issue 60 July/August 2012.
